Bouldering 101 is an adult bouldering class built around learning the climbing skills and techniques that will help you improve your climbing throughout life. The class meets once a week for four weeks. You will learn proper dynamic warm-up exercises to help keep you injury-free and maximize your climbing session, on the wall climbing activities that help develop strength, power, endurance, and technique, and calisthenics that can be done at home or in the gym (mostly) without equipment.

This class is best suited for newer climbers who have climbed a few times or climbers that are wanting to progress beyond climbing yellows or only a few blue boulder problems at Ascension. It’s a great way to break out of a “grade” rut if you find yourself not progressing as fast as you would like.

Memberships are encouraged, but not required for this class, as the instructor may give you some suggested “homework” sessions to work on specific weaknesses between classes. It’s also suggested to keep a climbing logbook for your sessions.
