Climbing at Grapefruit Rocks
We are closed this Sunday and heading to Grapefruit Rocks for some real rock. You are invited!
Bring any climbing gear you have, as well as food and water for the day. We will be climbing at Lower Grapefruit, located at the top of the hill (detailed directions below). Even if you don't have much gear or experience, we invite you to come out and enjoy what is looking to be a most beautiful day.
Getting to Grapefruit: Grapefruit Rocks is located at about 39-mile Elliot Hwy. There is currently some road construction just north of Fox, this could add up to 20 minutes to your trip each direction depending on how you catch the pilot car. It is otherwise about a 45 minute drive from Fox. Look for the wooden bridge at Globe Creek, the road then turns left up the hill. Near the top of the hill on the left is a pull-off, this is where we will all park. The obvious road/path leads to the first climbing area, it is about a 5 minute walk. There are other climbing areas nearby, and small groups may split off to explore them as well.
If you have any questions about this outing, feel free to post them on our Facebook post about the event and we will try to answer them promptly. We waited to post this until the weather was looking most promising, though many of you likely saw it announced at the gym or in the recent newsletter.
See you on the rocks!
