Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I've never climbed before, how does it work?
A: Climbing is the personal challenge of ascending to the top of the wall via any path you choose. The harder the path, the greater the challenge.
Upon arriving for your first time we will give you an overview of the facility and share some basic climbing and falling techniques. The walls have challenges for all levels and abilities.
They type of climbing we offer is called bouldering and does not use ropes as fall protection. Instead we have thick foam padding in all the fall zones to soften your landing. The ability to hop on or off the wall at any time leads to bouldering being inherently social. While no partner is required, climbing is always better when you bring your friends.
Q: Do I need to bring anything? Shoes? Clothing?
A: We would prefer all our patrons wear clothes while climbing. We suggest loose-fitting or stretchy clothes to maximize your flexibility.
Q: Do you have my shoe size?
A: We have shoes from kids sizes US 10 up to an adult US 15.
Climbing uses specialized shoes to give climbers better grip on the wall and we are happy to rent shoes to those who need them. These shoes are quite tight by design, but that snugness allows them to provide support on even the tiniest of footholds.
Q: I want to improve my climbing, do you offer classes?
Q: Do I need to bring a signed waiver?
A: Everybody needs a waiver to climb, those under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian fill theirs out for them. The waiver will familiarize participants with the risks associated with climbing.
Q: Do you offer special rates for birthday parties?
A: We do indeed! Check out our birthday page for more info.
Q: When are your busiest times?
A: We are often busiest on weekdays between 3pm and 8pm, but we open at noon and you can expect to meet some of the regulars on their lunch breaks. On the weekends we tend to see more climbers between noon and 6pm. With the social nature of climbing, don't be surprised that the gym is often more fun and lively when there's a crowd.
