COVID-19 Policies - Updated 5/19/2020
COVID-19 has left us with new choices regarding our safety and the safety of others. Our new policies serve this goal. The following policies are subject to change and evolve as time goes on.
Travel: If you have traveled out of state in the last 2 weeks, please complete the 14-day quarantine period required by Alaska health mandates before climbing with us.
Health: If you have had a fever, cough, shortness of breath or been in contact with someone with these symptoms, please stay home and observe a 14-day quarantine period before climbing with us.
Masks: Cloth face masks are required at all times for everyone in the building, including while you are climbing. No one will be allowed to enter the facility without a face mask, including the staff. We will have reusable masks available for purchase if needed.
Hygiene: Everyone will be required to sanitize their hands upon entering and before exiting the building. Hand washing will also be available.
Do not touch your face in the gym.
We will have a limited capacity of 15 patrons in the gym at one time. Parents are allowed to accompany minors, but they will count towards the total occupancy. This number is subject to change without notice.
Practice physical distancing by climbing or standing at least 6 feet away from others.
Do not share cubbies, chalk bags, water bottles, etc, outside of family units.
All climbers under the age of 10 will be required to have a one to one adult supervision ratio.
Water, food, and restrooms will be available, but in the interest of fewer contact points, patrons are encouraged to bring their own and plan in advance.
Everyone climbing will be required to reserve his or her timeslot.
The calendar will show you which time slots are available. To reserve a slot simply click on the calendar, select how many participants you are reserving for, and select your preferred time slot. We are currently asking that you sign up for no more than two 1-hour time slots in a day.
You will need to enter the names of all participants in a followup screen and you will receive a confirmation of your time slot. If you need to cancel for any reason, please call us and we will be happy to assist.
Climbing is full of inherent risks as we all know well. This is a new one for all of us to consider. Due to the many unknowns with COVID-19 we will be treating our sport with new respect and urge you to join us. A climbing gym is full of shared contact surfaces, many of which cannot be sanitized on any regular schedule.
Please act with deliberate care.
Be Well, Reach High, & Climb Hard!
